After my regular work day, I headed over to the home of his parents, Melanie and Paul Virdell. Over the past two and a half years, I have spent a considerable amount of time visiting with the Virdells. In fact, the Pierce Prairie Post was conceived on a street corner after a Bethel employee and I had a long discussion about the Virdell case. The information about this case just simply wasn’t reaching the local population.Melanie and Paul Virdell want you all to know they appreciate all the good wishes, sentiments and  messages of sympathy they have been receiving today. There have been so many messages, they simply haven’t been able to respond to them.

At the same time the news was brought to their doorstep last night, another serious accident took the live of two local residents. The Sheriff’s Deputy apologized that his Chaplain was busy. Melanie wanted to let the family of Alex Baker know they are in her thoughts and prayers also. She also mentioned she wishes well for those still searching for Justin Morris.

Melanie Virdell was lighting candles in the house, noting there was still much to be done on the case of her son’s abduction and murder. They show some relief, yet still, they are weary and know the job of getting to the bottom of what happened isn’t over. Paul, Chris’ father told stories of various information he has heard and messages he has received from psychics around the country that have been inspired to contribute their skills to the case. He has a wall full of these messages and a map of places that have been searched.

No plans for a memorial have been created yet as the news is so fresh. I have no doubt it will happen in the not too distant future. We will keep you “Posted.” Rest in Peace Chris.

    RIP Chris.
    To his parents,
It’s hard to put into words how I feel. It is sad and scarey when bad people do such bad things to others. Chris’ blood is upon the heads of those who participated in his murder. He stands as a martyr against them and I believe that God will take care of justice in his own time and way. Let God lighten your burdens and sorrows.
I pray that you will be comforted.

Sadly no one investigated that in fact that his trash parents sent him to there dealers house to make good on a debt they owed. Washington cops stink! So do the ignorant people who wasted time on these dippers! They are trash! They both should meet the likes of the sword.

    1. There is never an excuse for a life to be lost. Who his parents are in no way dismisses the severity of what happened or the need to carry out the proper process to identify and prosecute the people who committed this crime. There are people out there who know and they are just as guilty as the ones who committed the murder.
