District celebrates new facilities

Dedication ceremony planned for Central Kitchen and Transportation CenterCKTC Jan 2015

Bethel is getting ready to celebrate the grand opening of the first school-based design-build projects in the State – the district’s new kitchen and transportation headquarters.

The Central Kitchen and Transportation Center opened this fall. Now, administration will mark the occasion by inviting the public to attend a dedication and a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, Feb. 3 at 10 a.m. The facility is located at 5625 192nd St E in Spanaway (near the intersection of Canyon Rd E & 192nd St E). A performance by the Spanaway Lake Music Company, refreshments, and tours of both facilities will be part of the event.

The Bethel School District covers over 200 square miles in south Pierce County. Bethel has 17 elementary schools, six middle schools, three comprehensive high schools, an alternative high school and an online academy. Over 18,000 students attend the Bethel schools, making it the 16th largest district in the State.
