Ohop Creek Restoration Area, Eatonville
Nature Walk Saturday, September 12th from 10 am – 12:30 pm
Experience the largest salmon-recovery project underway in the Nisqually Watershed. Walk through the first phase of the restoration (completed in 2010) along the meandering, reconstructed Ohop Creek channel. Learn about the history of the site, how engineered logjams create salmon habitat, past restoration efforts, and why this valley is a critical link in salmon recovery efforts. The tour concludes with a visit to the portion of the re-meandered channel completed this summer at the downstream end of the Lower Ohop Valley.
~1 mile round-trip uneven ground
