Police, fire agencies to conduct training at former Spanaway Elementary School
Over the next few weeks, multiple police and fire agencies will be using the old Spanaway Elementary, located at 215 166th Street South, as a training ground. They will be conducting tactical and other technical drills at the site.
The public should not be alarmed to see rescue and law enforcement vehicles on or near the old Spanaway Elementary site on the following dates:
May 17 – Pierce County Sheriffs Office
May 24 – Washington State Patrol
June 15 – Central Pierce Fire & Rescue
This is a valuable opportunity for our local first responders to practice responding to emergencies in a vacant school setting. These activities will be contained to the old school building and will not impact the instruction of our students.
