The Pierce County Sheriff’s Mounted Posse is accepting applications to volunteer with the group. An Open House will be held on Thursday, Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. at the Parkland-Spanaway Sherriff’s Precinct for people interested in joining the posse.
The Mounted Posse is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to patriotism, recreation and social relationships. The group strives to make a positive impact in the community by supporting the Sherriff with security and patrol at events. Horsemanship remains a strong focus of the posse and members participate in several mounted events annually.
