Norwegian Heritage Festival March 15

on

The annual Norwegian Heritage Festival at the Scandinavian Cultural Center at PLU will be held Saturday, March 15 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. this year. The event will take place in the Anderson University Center on Park Avenue. Remember to bring cash as there is no ATM on campus.

The Norwegian Heritage Festival is sponsored by the Daughters of Norway Embla Lodge #2 from Tacoma. It features Scandinavian foods upstairs in the Rieke Conference Center and the hallways of the University Center will be filled with booths selling all manner of Norwegian crafts like Rosemaling, jewelry, sweaters, books, and more. There is also music and dancers performing for the attendees.

Entry is free. Come see a little of the culture that created the university and take home some krumkake, or snack on some rommegrot (cream and rice soup). The Scandinavian Cultural Center Museum will also be open downstairs with various displays and possibly a few Vikings to keep things in order.

It’s to late for me this year but, how do we apply for a vendor booth?

Contact the Scandinavian Cultural Center at PLU or Tacoma Embla #2 to get a piece of the action. It is a popular event.
